AutoMod: Block Words in Member Profile Names

This is disabled by default. When enabled, Discord can perform actions whenever a user joins or edits their server or public Discord profile.

The filtering lets you use text patterns or regex to set up blocked words and phrases, and lets you use text patterns to add exceptions.

The fields this rule checks are:

  • global display name
  • global username
  • server nickname

Whenever a violation is matched, Discord always blocks it or the user in one way or another — this action is mandatory and can’t be disabled. In addition, you can send an alert to a fixed channel.

You can also choose roles to ignore, so that anyone with one of those roles isn’t auto-moderated.

Anyone with the Administrator or Manage Server permission is always ignored. If some of your staff don’t have these permissions, you may need to add their role(s) to the ignore list.

As mentioned, if the member has a role that’s exempted, AutoMod won’t do anything.
